Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Women's Health — Taught the Way a Gurukul Always Has.Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Women's Health — Taught the Way a Gurukul Always Has.
Evidence-informed programmes for women's health, and certified teacher training in yoga therapy — rooted in tradition, grounded in science.
Why Stri Wellness Is a Modern Gurukul
Stri (स्त्री) — "she in whom a womb stays" (स्त्यायति गर्भोऽस्याम्)
Stri Wellness is built as a modern Gurukul—a place where yoga is not taught as a series of isolated classes, but as a deeper process of study, practice, reflection and relationship.
In the traditional Gurukul system, learning was woven into everyday life. Students observed, questioned, practised and gradually learned how to apply knowledge with discernment. Stri Wellness brings that depth into a contemporary setting by integrating yogic wisdom with anatomy, physiology, yoga therapy, nature cure and lifestyle education.
For women, this also means recognising that practice cannot remain identical through every phase of life. The female body is cyclical and constantly changing. Our work helps women and yoga teachers understand those changes, adapt practice with greater awareness and make informed choices rather than following one method for every body.
Yoga
Practice, philosophy and self-understanding.
Yoga Therapy
Applying yogic tools with awareness of individual needs and physiology.
Nature Cure
Understanding the relationship between the body, environment, food and daily living.
Lifestyle Education
Helping knowledge become part of everyday choices, not remain limited to the classroom.
What Guides Our Teaching
Every programme at Stri Wellness is shaped by four principles that determine what we teach, how we teach and how we remain accountable to our students.
Evidence-Informed
We study anatomy, physiology and current research so that tradition is taught with understanding—not accepted without question.
Rooted in Yogic Wisdom
Yoga is taught as a complete discipline of practice, self-observation and ethical living, not only as physical movement.
Individualised
A woman's age, life stage, experience, health and circumstances influence what practice is appropriate for her.
Education for Life
Our purpose is not temporary dependence on a teacher, but the understanding to make wiser choices independently.
Wherever you're starting from, there's a place to begin.
Whether you are seeking support for your own health, deepening your work as a yoga teacher, joining an immersion or beginning through our resources, there is a place to start.
Programmes for Every Stage

Trainings for Every Teacher

Hormone Alchemy: Hormone Yoga Therapy Teacher Training
Our most advanced specialisation for yoga teachers who want to understand hormonal health beyond the reproductive system. The training explores how the nervous system, endocrine system, metabolism, nutrition and lifestyle interact—and how disturbances may appear through concerns such as diabetes, cardiovascular health, thyroid imbalance, PCOS, fertility challenges and menopause.
Rather than approaching each symptom in isolation, students learn to examine the underlying patterns that may be influencing hormonal balance. Through yoga therapy, anatomy, physiology, nutrition and lifestyle education, the programme develops the reasoning needed to create responsible, individualised practices that address root causes rather than only managing symptoms.

View curriculumWhere Yogic Wisdom Meets Physiology
Our curriculum is built on the physiology of the menstrual cycle and the endocrine system, not on tradition alone — every protocol is designed to work with what's actually happening in the body at each phase.
A simplified four-phase model — actual cycle length and phase timing vary from woman to woman.
